Squirrel Girl Haiku

Hungry Squirrel

Winter brings hunger:
The furry frisky squirrels
get me to feed them.

One day, this little squirrel discovered that peanuts rain down from my open window. She also noticed that the window is opened when my favorite squirrel, Rumpy, visits. So, now, whenever Rumpy is in the yard, she stops by too.

Rumpy The Tailless SquirrelHere’s Rumpy. He was in some sort of accident a year ago last February. My neighbor and I saw him with a bloody tail. We were sure he would die.

Two weeks ago, he injured his left hind leg and couldn’t jump or climb. Somehow, he managed to avoid being eaten by a cat during his convalencences and he now hobbles up and down trees.
