RSS sped out their temperature anomaly reporting 0.546 for April, 2010. This dropped more than 0.1C from March’s anomaly of 0.652C. It’s the second highest April anomaly since 1998 when the RSS anomaly hit its all time record high of 0.858C. Still waiting for Roy to report UAH so we can figure out who won [...]

RSS posted their anomaly for March, 2010: 0.652C . The temperatures are plotted below. As you can see from the plot, this march beat March 1998′s anomaly of 0.586C. It is exceeded by Feb., April, and May of 1998 which hit 0.736C, 0.858, and 0.668C respectively. The average for the first three months of 2010 [...]

RSS, UAH (v5.2) and the new revised UAH (v5.3) February temperature anomalies for the lower troposphere have been posted; anomalies during the observational record are shown below along with the multi-model mean for the surface temperature based on 20th century simulations extended into the 21st century using A1B : Comparison of the RSS and UAH [...]

Roy Spencer posted the UAH January Anomaly for the lower troposphere: +0.72 Deg! Chicago was cold, but the globe was hot, hot, hot! The graph above shows the temperature anomalies in the satellite records for both RSS and UAH, I’ve highlighted all January readings with outlines, and also show a dashed line at the this [...]

RSS has reported an temperature anomaly of 0.243C for the lower troposphere. This represents a -0.086 C drop relative to November’s anomaly and is the 6th warmest December in the RSS record. Temperature anomalies for the lower troposphere reported by both UAH and RSS are plotted above; the multi-model mean temperature anomaly based on the [...]

RSS posted their November temperature anomaly: 0.328C. RSS and UAH anomalies set to a baseline from 2001- Nov. 2009 are shown below, along with trends computed since 2000. The 95% confidence intervals on the trend corrected for red noise are shown with dashed lines; the IPCC AR4 nominal projection for the surface of “about 2 [...]

RSS posted their observed temperature anomalies for the lower troposphere yesterday. The October anomaly of 0.282C fell relative the September anomaly of 0.474C. The drop of nearly 0.2C sounds large– but, “hey!” that’s weather in our lower troposphere! (The UAH October anomaly of 0.284 C was lower than their November anomaly of 0.422C.) I updated [...]

UAH temperature anomalies were officially posted yesterday. I thought you all might like to see a graph of temperature anomalies with uncertainty intervals. I included a trend of 2C/century for references: As you can see: The trends for both UAH and RSS are negative since 2001 with RSS having the larger negative trend. If we [...]

Here’s the skinny on recent RSS anomalies, in graphical form: Temperature anomalies in pictures: April’s RSS of 0.202 C dropped to a May RSS of 0.090C. For those who prefer to notice anomalies rose, the May 2008 RSS of -0.078C rose to a May 2009 RSS of 0.090C. For those wondering how UAH and RSS [...]

RSS posted their anomaly: The Lower Troposphere warmed relative to the temperature in March 2009 and April 2008. I’ve created a very cluttered graph illustrating many things about RSS below: As you can see: The observed temperature from April, 2009, which is circled in red, and enclosed in a black triangle is up from March [...]
