MediaCurves.com conducted a study among 314 Americans viewing a news clip on the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen. Results found that the majority (72%) indicated that the United States should increase its efforts to prevent and prepare for climate change. After viewing the video, support for the statement that there is scientific evidence that the average temperature on the earth has been rising over the past few decades rose from 60% to 68% among viewers. There’s no need to keep the original data because the countries have it? That’s like not keeping a recording of a speech because the speaker can present the speech again. The speaker may phrase things differently, remove or add illustations, be forbidden from speaking, or get hit by a bus. Countries change their policies, politics and disasters affect national records, people make bad decisions about data retention and processing. And CRU has had trouble identifying which specific records have been used — knowing “Rome” as a location isn’t enough because there are many data sites around Rome.

If they don’t have the data, they should be out of business. Nobody should pay them to process data, as they can’t be trusted to keep the data which they’ve been paid to gather.

They have been lying to us ALL along. The chilling thing is that perhaps EVERYTHING that THEY (scientists, politicians, etc.) have told us is also a lie!

Imagine that everything that you know, or think you know is nothing but a lie or distortion. That’s scary, a nightmare from which we can hardly awaken.

So what’s the BIG DEAL???? They have used this fake data to hijack our economy and set us up to have the government or more aptly the WORLD GOVERNMENT invade our lives and tell us here in AMERICA what we can and can’t do. We will pay more and get less while OUR wealth is “redistributed” to an overpopulated ASIA and AFRICA. Had enough yet America?

It is an obvious idea. It’s also obvious that a wind-like “whoosh” is a bad idea when you’re trying to be heard. I wonder if they made it sensitive to speed. You don’t need to make more noise at highway speeds, and at parking lot speeds you need only small sounds.

This is actually a slideshow from August 20th, for which the RSS feed has a date of today. The images accompany an article about the Nile delta flooding, featuring descriptions of the Delta. The Delta’s problems are not rising sea levels, but a decrease in flood-carried silt (probably due to damming the river) and the normal geological sinking of any heavy delta sedimentary layer.

DeSmogBlog doesn’t seem to allow comments.

Maybe the MWP is still an issue because evidence exists and keeps appearing. Just recently Mann 2009 “Atlantic hurricanes and climate over the past 1,500 years” found a peak in hurricanes 1,000 years ago.

All other things being equal, it makes sense that increased air temperature will result in increased water vapor in the air. I’m not surprised all climate models predict this. I don’t know how a model that included clausius clayperon would not.

I’m not sure how this finding tells us anything useful about models. I’d rather know if the models made quantitatively accurate predictions of the increase in water vapor at various level in the troposphere etc.

The researchers actually detected that climate models all increase the amount of water vapor when temperature increases. That doesn’t have any relationship to what humans actually do to water vapor. It is widely known that climate models have to greatly increase the amount of water vapor in order for miniscule carbon dioxide increases to have the desired effect. Because humans put a lot of vapor in the models, of course this research detected a lot of water vapor in the models.

On the other hand, are models properly accounting for all of the water vapor which humans have been adding to the atmosphere? Plant watering, decorative water features, and other human activities have been releasing a lot of water.

The article assumes that “slash and burn” increases the amount of carbon dioxide in the air. Burning will locally increase carbon dioxide, but it also increases the amount of carbon in the soil, so what is the effect over 10 years? Also, the “slash and char” which was used across the Amazon seems to put a lot of carbon in the ground.

I wonder what the temperatures were before 30 years ago, during the preceding cool and warm periods. It might have been warmer in 1940, which means the same deposits should have evaporated then, were replenished, and are again evaporating.
