Fourth of July Clematis Haiku

Bright pink clematis
bloom from the Fourth of July
until Bastille Day.

Happy Fourth of July to everyone!

I know many of my readers are not American, but even if you aren’t, it’s never bad to have a nice day, is it?

The weather is absolutely beautiful here. It often is on the Fourth, though it can tend to be a bit hot. It’s so nice today Jim and I ate out on our patio on the table right next to this beautiful vine. My family is coming over for the celebration as they do each year. Under the shadow of a Catholic University, two convents and a monastery, Lisle has the best spot for fireworks and more reasonable liquor laws than many neighboring towns. (E.G. Wheaton, Illinois.)

Yes, the village concert and celebration permits beer vendors to sell beer right there at the concert. Imagine. 🙂

Whether your town permits beer sales at concerts or not, whether you drink or not, Happy Fourth!

  1. Happy 4th Lucia and readers.

Here on the coast in San Francisco it is typical summer weather. Overcast and damp. Temps average just over 60F this time of year due to the marine layer dominating. Of course, 2-10 miles away will be 80’s and higher!!! We have occasional breaks where we see high 70’s when the marine layer breaks. Maybe sunday!!

The temps are NOT measured here on the coast. Probably at the air port on the bay!!!!
