November Channel 5 AMSU

Has ClimateGate made anyone forget their bets on UAH? Well, time to remind you. As you know, in anticipation of Roy posting the monthly temperature anomaly for UAH, I post the anomaly from “the drifter” the Channel 5 AMSU. According to the Channel 5 AMSU, November was hot, hot, hot! Here’s a graph of anomalies relative to the monthly average during the baseline period:

The Channel 5 AMSU thinks November was HOT!
The Channel 5 AMSU thinks November was HOT!

If UAH matches Channel 5, many of us will have predicted low. That said: Channel 5 drifts and seems to have been reading high lately. If you want to remember what you bet, here ya’ go:

  1. My guess is that November in the NH will be considerably warmer (in anomaly) than October was. It appears that both Europe and North America had a pretty warm November while Siberia was cold. But I believe the November global anomaly will be less than September was for both Ch. 5 and Ch. 4 (which is what I generally watch).

  2. Didn’t play this month because I’m rather light on quatloos (Saurian brandy and poorly selected thrall combat wagers, you know–who knew an Andorian with a lirpa could ever beat a Tellurite with a qutluch?…) but if I could have, I would have placed 5 Q on 0.492.

Any truth to the rumor that the proceeds this month go to the the Phil Jones legal defense fund?

  3. I’d like to use my quatloos to buy a few collars of obediance from the Thralls of Triskelion. There are a few scientists that will be getting these as holiday presents from me as a condition of their continuing to be involved in climate research.

  4. Following a VERY cold October, we had a VERY warm November in Wisconsin. I guess that works out to a net anomaly of 0 for the past two months, eh? 😉

  5. … and Calfornia was rather nice for the end of November as well. Dec 1 and it turned “brisk” again!

    cheers,
    Robert
