I never thought I&#8217;d hear &#8220;President Elect Trump&#8221;.  Or at least seriously doubted it. <\/p>\n<p>So what happens to: <\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Paris Climate Agreement? Obama signed the &#8220;agreement&#8221;. Our constitution stipulates the <I>Senate<\/i> approves treaties and they certainly haven&#8217;t approved this one. Trump doesn&#8217;t like the &#8220;agreement&#8221;.  Are we bound by it? Probably not. We&#8217;ll see in what way this becomes toast.  <\/li>\n<li>Obama executive orders entered under his &#8220;Pen and Phone&#8221; policy?  Let&#8217;s hope many of these are reversed quickly. <\/li>\n<li>Unbridled executive power? Let&#8217;s hope Trump either doesn&#8217;t follow Obama&#8217;s example in exercising it when he couldn&#8217;t have his way with Congress.  <i>Or<\/i> failing that, that Senate and Congress reign it in&#8211; in part, by realizing that bills shouldn&#8217;t pass quite so much decision making on over to the executive branch. Actually: let&#8217;s hope for the latter either way.  We need checks and balances just as much now as we needed them over the past 4 years. <\/li>\n<li>Obamacare? Should be toast.  Let&#8217;s see what comes. <\/li>\n<li>What else?<\/i>\n<\/ol>\n<p><b>Update<\/b><br \/>\nThe NYT has an especially good breakdown of which groups voted for HRC vs Trump with gains\/losses indicators on the right hand side side. If I&#8217;m reading right, Trump did win the higher income vote and did not win the lower income vote; this is typical for GOP\/Dem candidates.
