Projections for surface provided for reference.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Comparison of the RSS and UAH observations indicates the observed least squares trend applied to observations during the observational record continues to lag the least squares trend based on the multi-model mean anomaly for the surface. Of course, it would be more appropriate to compare to projections for the lower troposphere, but for monthly blog posts I&#8217;m using trends from simulations that are available at &#8220;The Climate Explorer&#8221;. The most recent individual monthly observations  are warmer than the value corresponding to the multi-model mean temperature anomaly.
