I admit I am the queen of typos. I suspect every single comment or post I have ever published contains spelling errors, missing words, duplicate words and any mistake you can name. I’ve noticed others are often annoyed by these sorts of pesky errors.
They don’t annoy me. I rarely notice the in other people’s documents; when I do notice them, I forgive them.
Still, I almost split my sides when I read the third to the last sentence in this post:

Poor Stoat. To be fair, I’ve never been able to understand how William has a day job with all the time he spends on climate blogging and Wikipedia…
Still, I suppose this must mean he is still in the wasteland of IE users, bereft of the auto-spellchecking glory that is Firefox.
Yeah. I only work part-time. Otherwise, I have no idea how one would run a climate blog.
Wikipedia? I’d never even consider that. It seems like such a time sink especially on topics with large political impacts like climate change.
Are there people who can’t use Firefox? It helps a lot. ( That said, even with Firefox, I still post typos.)
Those seem like fairly standard typos. I thought we were going to have some classic like “Sir Francis Drake circumcised the globe with a 100 foot clipper.”

Yep. They are garden variety typos– nothing creative. They are copious, even for a casual blog. But, all are in the same category as Michael Tobis’s mis-spelling ‘polyanna’ and the misplacement of the space in ‘these a’ article W. makes sport of in that particular post. 🙂
Oh, I left a comment on WC’s post at 11:57 am CST. It’s been a while, and other comments have appeared. Evidently, W.’s spam filter ate it. The note explained the metric for ice bets here and at Atmoz:
Moderated blogs are a pain. You post; the spam filter eats the comment. But you can’t know for sure for so long.
No matter, I doubt if anyone involved in the bets here was concerned as my blog has always provided the links to the source both in the blog posts and on the time series graph illustrating the bets.
