Bleg: Can anyone point me to a reference explaining how to write applications for the Itouch? The reason I ask is a knitter contacted me and asked:
Subject: Your Cool Calculations
Have your (or are they available) thought about getting them set up as app download (for fee) for Apple Itouch like the great knitting gauge calculation app they have. I’d pay to download
As it happened, I hadn’t thought of it. . .
Anyway, if anyone has info on what’s involved in writing Apple Ipod Touch Apps, I figure I can commercialize this. It probably won’t make more than $1000 a year, but these things are fun.
Update
I’m going to post resources as I find them:
- ipodtouchfans “Collection of Open Source Apps and Sample Code” post.
Have you looked at the apple site?
iphone developer
There’s the sdk and it appears that there is support with Xcode
Thanks Barry!
I got a developer ID. So… now to figure out the rest. (I have Xcode already. So, that’s a step. 🙂 )
Weird… the ads showing aren’t IPods…they are …. something few of my readers will want to buy here!
hi, I don’t know anything about i pods, but, are you aware that amazon kindle has blogs? The problem with them is that the comments don’t come through. That may be fixable, I don’t know.
But it costs about 2-3 dollars a month to have buy a blog for the kindle, and so I guess the blogger gets about half of that.
You might want to give that a try.
Thanks barbara. I filled out an application form.
That is so cool. I wrote to you some time ago and told you that I copy your blog over to my kindle so I can read it better (bad eyes). The instant you get it on the kindle I will sign up, saving me a ton of trouble!!!
When I entered the thread I was expecting commentary on an iApp for either current-baby-sea-ice or current-ipcc-prediction-quality. 😀
My only input was to be Barry’s link. The iPod Touch and the iPhone are basically the same thing – searching for iPhone resources might get you more useful information.
