The wordpress dashboard is urging me to upgrade to 2.7.1. Being a cautious soul, I upgraded the test blog first.
Most things worked just fine. However, the display on the admin side goes wonky. See how the sidebar extends over the text describing plugins?

I had no problems upgrading my knitting blog to 2.7.0. The admin panel is totally revamped but, at least in my case, upgrading went smoothly in all ways. I had no difficulties with plugins, themes, or anything. (I have read some bloggers did have problems with 2.7.0. You can google to find work arounds for that issue.)
My advice: If you’ve upgraded to 2.7.0, wait before upgrading to 2.7.1 Give WordPress time to iron out the bugs or bloggers time to report a work around for pesky issues.
Do you know of Steve Mc upgraded? CA’s not working at the moment.
Ryan O– I don’t know if he upgraded. I saw there were problems with the data base connection. That could be related to an upgrade.
Just more problems with climate computers.
Scooter– It looks like Steve is having a problem with the cache plugin. That happened to me once. I don’t even remember how I fixed it.
Without blogs, the whole skeptic movement shuts down. 🙂
Boris, that’s just silly. Without blogs, there would still be plenty of media in which AGW could be debated. Unless, of course, we have all forgotten how to use print and broadcast media. But I still read WSJ and other things in paper form, so that doesn’t seem likely. I think that this is wishful thinking on your part, as if one could silence positions who disagree with before you have absolute dictatorial authority simply by destroying a medium. But fear not, I’m sure that you will find a way to shut up opposition in a non-totalitarian manner, right? 😉
Of course, you may just be trying to give others ideas…
Hm, I’ve been hesitant to upgrade my own blog, guess I was right to be cautious!
Andrew–
The upgrade to 2.7.1 shouldn’t destroy anything. But it’s aggravating to have the sidepanel overlapping the content area for plugins and various other things. The blog itself displayed fine.
I’ve been blogging about knitting for years. I’m used to WP working like a charm most of the time and then suddenly causing “issues”. I also had a host go belly up on me. It was totally aggravating.
So, I’ve learned to be paranoid. Dreamhost lets me install as many copies of WP as I like. I have a test blog installed using most the plugins I use on this one. I always upgrade that blog first. That way I don’t have any horrible surprises.
“Without blogs, the whole skeptic movement shuts down.”
Without corrupt politicians and sycophant media the whole AGW movement shuts down.
Besides, if there no skeptic blogs, where could we get our fix of Boris’ Wisdom to read? 😉

Well, that’s actually a very good point.
And without denialoskeptic blogs, how would the deniers know which scientist to harass?
Well, I suppose you’d stumble into one from time to time.
Boris–
Are you going to the march?
No. I would if I lived nearby. It would be hypocritical to run up some CO2 emissions to go to march against CO2 emissions. I’m not sure the people on my side always understand that.
RE: Upgrades- “The Early Christians got the best lions.”
Boris–
Had you said yes, I would have asked if you were cycling or walking. 🙂
Boris – I liked your answer. 🙂 BTW, I think we already knew about Hansen. We need blogs to find out about Mann, though . . .
