  1. Well the AMSR-E was on AQUA, they cannot run it anymore!

That is why I am curious.

Dr. Roy Spencer write about Aqua more generally:

[The Aqua satellite can easily accommodate the extra torque imparted to the spacecraft, and last night’s spin-down of AMSR-E was mostly to eliminate the very slight chance of sudden failure of the AMSR-E bearing assembly which could have caused the Aqua satellite to go into an uncontrolled and unrecoverable tumble.]

So, the satellite seems to be ok. If you want to know about UAH TLT more specifically, you have to ask Roy Spencer. I’m assuming that they’ll be posted. I’m basing this on the fact that no one has said otherwise.

  3. Hello all. When I read about the failed satellite I immediately contacted Doctor Spencer who replied accordingly. I hope this helps.

No, it was the failure of the AMSR-E instrument, only. The other
    instruments, including AMSU, are working.

  4. I see, the AMSR-E was related to measuring humidity, moisture, and sea temperatures. The AMSU-A is what measures to atmospheric temperatures. Got it!

    Thanks to all :)’

The script hides all bets while betting is on. It will reveal them after betting closes. I haven’t programmed it to let you view your own past bets. You have to remember.

  6. Lucia,
This is probably obvious, but can you confirm that “cut-off Oct 19” means that bets can be placed up to midnight on October 19th?

  7. Ray–
No. The cutoff is based on the clock time set by the machine at Dreamhost. It’s midnight Oct 19…. in some time zone. Probably not yours. Definitely not mine.
