RSS December Anomaly: 0.243C

SatelliteTrends
RSS has reported an temperature anomaly of 0.243C for the lower troposphere. This represents a -0.086 C drop relative to November’s anomaly and is the 6th warmest December in the RSS record.

Temperature anomalies for the lower troposphere reported by both UAH and RSS are plotted above; the multi-model mean temperature anomaly based on the A1B extension to 20th century runs from models used to create projections in the AR4 are illustrated for references. It’s evident monthly temperatures continue to fall below the projections for the surface (whatever one thinks that might mean. 🙂 )

Just drove back from Lake County. I stayed at my sister’s last night after celebrating Popsie-Wopsie’s birthday at a steak house. It was fun.

More interesting stuff will appear when either GISS or Hadley report their December anomalies. 🙂

  1. Hi Lucia,

I’m going out on a limb with a prediction: GISS for December will be higher than the others, and Hadley will be close to RSS. GISS is in-filling estimated temperatures for high latitude grid cells that Hadley does not include in its average. Easy to get higher average warming when you get to include estimated (strongly warming) values for empty cells.

Why do you call your dad Popsie-Wopsie?

  2. Why do you call your dad Popsie-Wopsie?

Dad came up with that when we were little. He also named his special recipe “Popsie-Wopsie Milkshakes”.

Oh.. I need to scan a photo of him with his 3rd grade class. Then, I’ll make all you guys guess which of the kids is him. Heh.
